Thus, we have an established specialized network in many provinces of the country in order to design and implement related activities in the field of food security, research, capacity building, disaster management, and placement.Job SummaryThe Community Mobilizer will work under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and support the implementation of WASH activities in targeted communities. The position will facilitate community mobilization, hygiene promotion, awareness sessions, and community participation in activities related to safe water supply, sanitation, and hygiene.The Community Mobilizer will engage with community members, local leaders, and vulnerable groups, collect community feedback, support beneficiary participation, and report field-level concerns and progress to the Project Manager. The position will also promote inclusive participation and support monitoring and documentation of WASH activities.Duties and Responsibilities:·Conduct community meetings to explain WASH project objectives, activities, and beneficiary selection criteria.·Support the establishment and functioning of community committees for the identification and selection of vulnerable households.·Mobilize communities and encourage active participation in WASH activities.·Promote safe water, sanitation, hygiene practices, handwashing, and prevent waterborne diseases.·Support the identification and assessment of community WASH needs and priorities.·Verify beneficiary information and maintain accurate records using approved project templates.·Maintain regular communication with targeted households and community leaders to build trust and cooperation.·Facilitate hygiene promotion and awareness-raising sessions within targeted communities.·Encourage community ownership and participation in the operation and maintenance of WASH facilities.·Assist with the distribution of WASH supplies and maintain accurate distribution records.·Collect and communicate community feedback, complaints, and concerns to the Project Manager.·Support monitoring, documentation, and reporting of WASH activities and community mobilization efforts.·Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports to the line manager as required.·Support WASH assessments, data collection, community consultations, and field monitoring activities.·Ensure the inclusion and participation of women, people living with disabilities, and other vulnerable community members.·Support community capacity-building activities related to WASH, hygiene, sanitation, and water management.·Organize community awareness and visibility activities related to WASH interventions.·Ensure all activities are implemented in accordance with the approved activity plan, project objectives, and relevant guidelines.·Perform any other WASH-related duties assigned by the Project Manager.Job Requirements·Diploma or bachelor’s degree in WASH, public health, environmental health, social sciences, development studies, or a related field is preferred.·Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in WASH, community mobilization, hygiene promotion, or humanitarian/development projects.·Practical experience in conducting community meetings, awareness sessions, beneficiary assessments, and community consultations.·Good understanding of safe water supply, sanitation, hygiene promotion, and prevention of waterborne diseases.·Strong communication, interpersonal, and community mobilization skills.·Ability to work effectively with communities, local leaders, women, vulnerable groups, and other stakeholders.·Commitment to accountability, inclusion, community participation, and the Do No Harm principle.·Ability to work effectively under pressure, independently and as part of a team, in challenging field environments.·Fluency in Pashto and Dari; working knowledge of English is preferred.·Good computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, email, and internet applications.·Ability to maintain accurate records, collect data, and prepare basic field reports.·Ability to work professionally and respectfully with people regardless of nationality, ethnicity, gender, religion, race, tribe, or cultural background.·Willingness and ability to travel regularly to targeted communities and project sites.InclusionStatementKRO maintains a stringent zero-tolerance policy towards any behavior that contradicts its objectives, encompassing sexual exploitation and abuse, sexual harassment, abuse of authority, and discrimination.
