With more than 16 years of experience, ORD has successfully implemented over 113 humanitarian and development projects across all 34 provinces of Afghanistan in partnership with UN agencies, international donors, and development organizations.ORD is committed to promoting sustainable livelihoods, social inclusion, resilience, and economic empowerment for vulnerable communities, particularly women, youth, and marginalized groups.Job DescriptionThe Motorcycle Repair Trainer will be responsible for planning, organizing, delivering, monitoring, and assessing Motorcycle Repair training under the REEP Project in accordance with the approved curriculum and project implementation plan. The position holder will perform the following duties and responsibilities:1. Training DeliveryPrepare lesson plans and practical exercises based on the approved curriculum.Deliver theoretical and practical motorcycle repair training according to the approved training schedule.Conduct competency-based practical demonstrations.Ensure all trainees receive equal opportunities for practical learning.Apply Competency-Based Training (CBT) principles by combining classroom instruction with supervised workshop practice, individual coaching, and continuous assessment.2. Practical Workshop TrainingTrain participants on motorcycle engine systems, engine dismantling and assembly, fuel systems, lubrication systems, and transmission and clutch systems.Train participants on brake, suspension, and steering systems, and on wheel alignment and balancing.Train participants on electrical systems, including battery maintenance, ignition, charging, and lighting systems.Train participants on motorcycle servicing, preventive maintenance, and fault diagnosis and troubleshooting.Train participants on the use of workshop tools and equipment.3. Workshop SafetyEnsure safe use of workshop tools and machinery and enforce Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) procedures.Promote safe handling of fuels, lubricants, batteries, and electrical equipment.Ensure trainees use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop.4. Assessment and MentoringConduct baseline skills assessments and competency evaluations.Maintain trainee assessment records.Provide coaching and feedback to trainees.Recommend trainees for certification based on competency.5. Administration and ReportingMaintain daily attendance records and inventory records of tools, equipment, and consumable materials.Report any challenges affecting training implementation.Prepare and submit the following deliverables: training work plan, weekly lesson plans, daily attendance sheets, practical assessment records, monthly progress reports, final competency assessment report, and final training completion report.6. Coordination and MonitoringCoordinate with the Project Manager and Skills Development Officer.Support monitoring visits by ORD and UNDP.Participate in coordination meetings.Cooperate with the MEAL team during monitoring and evaluation activities.Job RequirementsEducationDiploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related technical field.National TVET certification in Motorcycle Repair is an asset.ExperienceMinimum of three (3) years of practical motorcycle repair experience.Minimum of two (2) years of experience delivering vocational or technical training.Experience in Competency-Based Training (CBT) is preferred.Experience working with donor-funded projects is an advantage.Technical SkillsStrong knowledge of motorcycle mechanical systems.Excellent practical repair skills.Ability to operate workshop equipment safely.Ability to prepare training reports and documentation.LanguagesFluency in Dari and/or Pashto.CompetencyStrong facilitation and communication skills.Good organizational and time management skills.Ability to mentor trainees with different educational backgrounds.Commitment to quality training and continuous improvement.
